Kate Owen

Kate Owen is an abstract artist with a passion for colour. Painting fulltime from her home studio, a creative oasis with expansive views of undulating country on their property in Northern NSW which her husband farms.

Kate’s vibrant colourful abstracts provoke a delightful positive emotional response and bring joy to all her collectors.

Painting intuitively from impressions of memories and things seen around her daily, as she paints the work takes on a life of its own. Her first marks on canvas, performed in fast-drying acrylics are vigorously expansive and free. As she works Kate scribbles on paper with paint and pencil, exploring colour palettes and form. Moving back and forth between canvas and paper alternating between layers of solid and transparent paints in a process where one mark informs the next.
